Kaavian Shariati received his B.S. in Bioengineering and M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University and is currently a fourth-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His research interests include biomaterial design, spatial computation, regenerative engineering, reconstructive surgery, and plastic surgery. At Cornell, he conducted biomaterials and bioengineering research under the mentorship of Prof. Minglin Ma, with a focus on the design of materials for biomedical applications. At UCLA, he works with Dr. Justine Lee on craniofacial regeneration, surgical outcomes, and translational research in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

His interests center on biomaterial design, tissue regeneration, craniofacial reconstruction, and the application of engineering principles to surgical problems. He also develops 3D models, renderings, and scientific graphics to visualize anatomy, biomaterials, surgical concepts, and research findings.
